Eastern North Carolina is pleased to announce the addition of John Puthenveetil, M.D., to our Rocky Mount and Zebulon offices. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Eligible in Cardiology. Dr. Puthenveetil received his Medical Degree from Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore University in Mysore, India. Dr. Puthenveetil became a US Citizen in 1978. He completed his Internship at Watts Hospital, Durham, NC, then completed his Internal Medicine residency at DePaul Hospital, Norfolk, VA and completed his Fellowship in Cardiology at Medical College of Virginia. He served as a Member of the Board of Directors with the North Carolina Heart Association, Vice President of the Medical Staff and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, was a Member of the Governor's Ad Hoc Committee for Hypertension and received the Founders Award and the Bronze Medallion Award from the North Carolina Heart Association. Dr. Puthenveetil was associated with Cardiovascular Center, Jacksonville, NC, Boice Willis Clinic, Rocky Mount, NC and Halifax Regional Cardiology, Roanoke Rapids, NC. Dr. Puthenveetil resides in Rocky Mount with his wife Brenda. He will begin his practice on March 4, 2019 and is eager to serve the citizens in the surrounding areas.
