Andrea Hubbard Barfield, PA-C

Andrea Hubbard Barfield grew-up near the water of Lake Champlain in Burlington, Vermont. She developed her love for medicine at a young age by volunteering in nursing homes where her mother worked as a Registered Nurse.  Before entering college, Andrea worked as a Nursing Assistant and then volunteered on a Rescue Squad in Milton, Vermont.  She enrolled at Daemen College following High School.
Andrea graduated Sum Cum Laude from Daemen College receiving a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies, Honors, and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.  During her year of internships, Ms. Barfield was fortunate enough to travel to Hawaii for clerkships in Family Medicine, Pediatrics and General Surgery.  Andrea completed Pediatric Oncology at Roswell Park in Buffalo, New York and an Adult Medical Oncology internship in Buffalo, New York as well. Her senior thesis studies were focused on pediatric hypertension.  Andrea was actively involved in the local physician assistant society during college: Western New York Physician Assistant Association. In addition, she took part in Students Without Boarders, receiving the opportunity to volunteer in the Dominican Republic and provide medical services to a rural community.
Outside of medicine, Andrea enjoys reading, cooking, biking and exploring nature with her husband, Matt Barfield.  She has a fond love of traveling and has been fortunate enough to spend time in China, Thailand, France, Italy and Switzerland. Andrea enjoys fishing and being around the water. As a hobby, she expresses her creative side through decorating cakes. She is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoys getting involved with the community.
