Eastern North Carolina Medical Group, PLLC welcomes April Jones, MS, PA-C as a new provider. She was in the little town of Troy, North Carolina. Learning was always a passion for her, so it was not surprising that she graduated as Valedictorian of her high school class. She attended Campbell University as a Presidential Scholar, where she graduated magna cum laude with a double major in Biology and Biochemistry in just 3 years. During her time in Buies Creek, Mrs. Jones was a member of numerous organizations, including becoming Secretary of the Student Government Association. She also played for the Camel's Women traveling Club Soccer team. Upon graduation, she was distinguished and honored as a Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Mrs. Jones has a love for science, which led her to a Ph.D. program at West Virginia University in Neurobiology. While working on her research project, she felt as though her heart was not fulfilled, and began working a few hours a week as a nurse's aide. She quickly realized that this was her passion - medicine and taking care of people. This desire to share her knowledge and love for people brought her back to her home state, North Carolina, and to the Physician Assistant program at East Carolina University. She was elected Vice President of her class and continued to lead others throughout her education. She graduated with her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in December, 2016.
Mrs. Jones happily accepted a position with Eastern North Carolina Medical Group, PLLC in January, 2017, and is now accepting new patients of all ages. She is a Board Certified Physician Assistant and is licensed to practice by the North Carolina Medical Board. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, as well as a Fellow of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.
In her free time, Mrs. Jones enjoys spending time with her husband and her two dog "fur-babies." She also enjoys traveling, hiking, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. She looks forward to using her knowledge and passion of medicine to take care of all healthcare needs of you and your family.
